From 2014 to 2017, the annual Yamazaki Limited Edition bottlings held a prominent position among the most coveted releases within the Japanese whisky market. These limited productions, characterized by their scarcity and inclusion of precious, well-aged Yamazaki whisky, excelled in terms of quality, presentation, and collectability.
However, the challenges posed by the prevailing whisky shortage led to a temporary pause in these remarkable expressions. This gap was filled by various non-age statement (NAS) whiskies, such as the Essence of Suntory Volumes 3 and 4, along with the recent Yamazaki Cask Finish releases.
Fortunately, the resurgence of the series commenced last year with the launch of the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021, evoking a sense of nostalgia and satisfaction among enthusiasts. Building on this rekindled momentum, Suntory continues the journey with the unveiling of the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2022.
This particular release places a significant emphasis on the utilization of high-quality Mizunara wood for maturation, resulting in a creamy and aromatic expression.
