Established in 1826 and situated near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, The GlenDronach Distillery has gained prominence for its exceptional Sherry matured whisky. Presently under the ownership of Brown-Forman, the distillery has a rich history. GlenDronach Batch 18 is a collection of 18 individual single cask releases, with only a limited number finding their way to Australia. This range encompasses a diverse array of whiskies, varying in age and vintages, all meticulously chosen by the Master Distiller, Dr. Rachel Barrie. These whiskies are aged in ex Oloroso Sherry, ex Pedro Ximenez Sherry, or ex Port barrels, and they are bottled at their natural cask strengths, which fall within the range of 48% to 61.9% ABV.
Among the offerings in Batch 18, there is a particular GlenDronach single cask from the year 1994. This whisky was aged for a remarkable 26 years in an Oloroso Sherry Puncheon. The production of this specific batch resulted in a mere 676 bottles being crafted for global distribution. For enthusiasts of GlenDronach, this bottling is an opportunity not to be overlooked.
