After a delightful Sunday luncheon at the residence of owner Peter Russell, Tom—also an owner at Glengoyne—presented a set of Glengoyne Single Cask samples for the family's enjoyment. Among these, a particular cask, numbered 1549, truly stood out due to its exceptional quality. Notably, this cask is unique, as all three generations of the Russell family unanimously agreed to bottle it. This bottling serves as a tribute to the collaborative efforts of three Russell generations working harmoniously within the business.
Named the Russell Family Cask, this Glengoyne Single Cask was handpicked by the IMD owners across three generations—Peter, Leonard, and Tom. Aged for 36 years in a Refill Sherry Butt, this whisky offers a luxurious and gratifying experience with a prolonged finish that beautifully balances the influence of the cask and the character of the spirit, developed over more than three decades in Glengoyne's warehouses. A highly exclusive release, limited to just 402 bottles, marking one of the most aged Glengoyne whiskies to ever be unveiled.
