The 2019 release of Ichiro's Chichibu On The Way marks the ultimate bottling in the 'On the Way' series. It emerges from a selection of 52 casks, each aged between 5 and 10 years, symbolizing the culmination of its remarkable journey leading up to Chichibu's inaugural 10-year bottling. The casks primarily comprise first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, alongside a presence of second-fill chibidaru casks, hogsheads featuring mizunara (Japanese oak) heads, and a touch of peated whisky. Noteworthy predecessors in this series include the 2013 edition, with casks aged between 3 to 5 years, and the 2015 edition, showcasing casks aged between 5 to 7 years. This final release pays tribute to the growth and evolution of Chichibu's whisky-making journey.
