In its third vintage, augmented by an additional nearly 3 hectares, this wine showcases its origins. It represents the initial portion of Butteaux, located as you depart Chablis, adjacent to Forets. These younger vines were planted by the father-in-law, recovering from some court-noué. The yield in 2021 stood at 12-15 hl/ha. The wine's maturation continues in barrels.
While the barrel imparts a gentle, subtle warmth, the aromatic profile remains restrained, exuding a sense of tranquility. Presently, the wine's aroma is understated and somewhat introverted. The palate, however, is serene, embracing a comprehensive mouth-filling quality characterized by a refined texture. The wine possesses a striking intricacy that straddles the line between citrus and mineral notes. As the finish broadens, it unveils an enhanced saline quality. Overall, a truly exceptional wine in its current state.
