This particular expression of whisky has undergone a remarkable 25-year aging process, during which it matured exclusively in European Oak Oloroso Sherry casks. These casks are known for their ability to impart rich and complex flavors to the whisky, particularly when they are first-fill casks, meaning they have never been used before for maturing whisky.

The expression was first introduced to the market in early 2014, and with this release, it also brought a new packaging design that focuses on sustainability. The whisky is now presented in a heavy bespoke bottle, showcasing its premium quality. The bottle is adorned with several distinct features, including a fine metal stopper, a crafted cartouche (a decorative emblem), and a delicately branded neck tag. This attention to detail adds to the overall luxury of the presentation.

Additionally, the whisky comes in an oak box that offers an elegant and sophisticated exterior. The box interior has been thoughtfully designed to cradle the bottle, and it even includes a blank plinth, allowing for personalization through engraving.

Furthermore, the box's exterior boasts a refined feather pattern that has been subtly varnished, adding to its visual appeal. This attention to aesthetics and detail enhances the overall experience of owning and enjoying this special 25-year-old expression, making it a desirable choice for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate both the whisky itself and its presentation.

Silver Outstanding: Scotch Single Malt – Highland (2014 International Wine & Spirit Competition)

Nose:

Pure decadence. Oloroso-soaked figs and blood oranges join a chorus line of cinnamon, burned walnuts and aged cigar leaf.

Palate:

Rum infused chocolate cake – sun dried dates followed by spice and hot vanilla.

Finish:

Long and fetching giving way to smooth vanilla spice. A midnight dram

This bright amber beauty has red fruits, leather and brown sugar on the nose and soft oak, cinnamon, stewed fruits and a Seville marmalade tang on the palate. The finish is very long with spicy liquorice.
